The Dandelion Slouchy Beanie

Hello!

I'm going to start blogging about some of the items I make, so that you can easily find which patterns and yarns I used. Please let me know if you find this handy, or even better, post photos of your makes for me to admire!

First up is the Slouchy Beanie you may have seen on my social media channels recently. A couple of my customers had recently shared some beautiful images of Beanies made with Boho Spirit, and my brain immediately had the urge to make one using Fairy Isle DK in Dandelion.

There's lots of patterns for slouchy beanies about, although most seem to work along the same premise of connecting a ribbed band to a body of puff stitches. I used the "Urban Jungle Slouchy Beanie" by Vickie Howell, a free pattern on Ravelry but I adapted the pattern for use with a DK yarn as opposed to a chunky.

Its turned out a little big for her, so I will have to make another. But I'm really pleased with it.

For those of you interested, I made the ribbed band 50cm (20 inches) long and the hat height before gathering 25.5cm (10 inches). I used approximately 1.5 balls of Fairy Isle DK in Dandelion, and some Cream DK yarn from my stash (You could use Cygnet DK in Cream). Making the cost of this hat in material terms less than £5.
